Regrets

Well, the past is playing with my head and failure knocks me down again; I’m reminded of the wrong that I have said and done. My mistakes are running through my mind - just can't forget what lies behind. I’ll relive my days in the middle of the night. I struggle with my pain, I wrestle with my pride. Sometimes I feel alone and I cry. I don't fit in and I don’t feel like I belong anywhere. I don’t measure up to much in this life. In this life I know what I’ve been. But in the future do I know what I can be? Do I have to carry the weight of who I’ve been into the future of who I can be? Have you ever felt this way? Your past does not have to define your future.
